Infantile Amnesia 

This series shows moments in the early years of my life from infancy to older childhood; moments which I don’t remember.

 

I created this series to document my forgotten childhood. I chose, printed, and covered the young images of me to represent the absent memories. The more opaque the object covering my face is, the more present my infantile amnesia. Beginning from completely opaque objects and transiting to more see-through ones, the viewer approaches my 10th birthday where I begin to remember a little more. The last image is one of me in 7th grade as a 12 year old: the true turning point between the faded and concrete.
